19-year-old faces drug trafficking charge

KENORA — An individual was arrested by members of the Kenora Ontario Provincial Police, resulting in the seizure of about 13g suspected cocaine.

On Wednesday, Kenora OPP attended the area of Rupert Road, after receiving a call for assistance, arrested the individual, and seized the suspected cocaine along with $540 cash.

As a result of the investigation, a 19-year-old of Kenora has been arrested and charged with possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – cocaine and possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime under $5,000.

A media release from OPP stated the accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Kenora on Feb. 25.
