IGNACE– Members of the Ignace Ontario Provincial Police Detachment have arrested and charged one individual with spousal assault.
On Sept. 14, at approximately 3 a.m., members of the Ignace OPP Detachment responded to an incident at a residence in Ignace, a media release said.
As a result of the investigation, a 26-year-old has been charged with spousal assault.
The media release stated the accused has been released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Ignace on Oct. 2.
The OPP will not release names to protect the identity of the victim.
