FORT FRANCES — It's been a year since Melanie Lapish disappeared.
A reward is now being offered to help locate the missing 35-year-old mother.
Lapish was last seen on Feb. 26, 2024, at approximately 9 p.m. in Fort Frances.
In a release from OPP, Acting Detective Staff Sergeant Ryan Gordon said her "family misses her deeply and deserves some answers."
A $50,000 reward is being offered for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person or people responsible for the disappearance of Melanie Lapish.
She is described as female, approximately 5'9" (175 cm) and 110 lbs (50 kg), with blue-green eyes, long dirty blonde hair and a nose ring. Lapish was last seen wearing a grey sweater, blue jeans and a toque.
Multiple agencies are assisting in the search for her, including the Rainy River District OPP under the direction of the OPP Criminal Investigation Branch (CIB). Assistance is also being provided by the OPP North West Region Crime Unit, OPP Forensic Identification Services, OPP North West Region Emergency Response Team and OPP Canine Unit.
