72-year-old man charged with murder

KENORA — A resident of Kenora is in custody in connection with a homicide that occurred last week.

Ontario Provincial Police said they responded March 13 to a call for service at a residence on Heenan Place, where they found a person in medical distress.

Forty-six-year-old Albert Keesick Jr. of Kenora was subsequently pronounced deceased.

As a result of the investigation, the man's father, 72-year-old Albert Keesick Sr., was arrested on a charge of second degree murder.

The charge has yet to be tested in court.

The accused was scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Kenora on Monday.

The OPP North West Crime Unit investigation continues under the direction of the Criminal Investigation Branch, with assistance from OPP Forensic Identification Services, and in conjunction with the Office of the Chief Coroner and the Ontario Forensic Pathology Service.
