Cell phones, televisions and radios will have an alert broadcast out to Canadians after lunch Wednesday as part of Alert Ready's testing protocols.
The Alert Ready system is in place to make the public aware in the event of various emergencies; natural disasters like tornados and flooding, threats to national security as well as civil emergencies and using the system to broadcast in the event of an Amber Alert.
Tested twice a year, Alert Ready will be broadcasting to all devices including, cell phones today at 12:55 p.m. EST.
