ATIKOKAN – When the school board met last, the Atikokan K-12 School Naming Committee reviewed staff, student, and community submissions for the remodel of Atikokan High School to accommodate students from North Star Community School and High School.

After a discussion period, a short list of names were considers including True North, Atikokan Voyageur School, Atikokan Community School,

After a long process, the committee put forward the recommendation of the latter two names: Northern Lakes K-12 School and Atikokan K-12 School.

Northern Lakes K-12 was chosen.
