ATIKOKAN — A local resident was busted for impaired driving for the second time in the past few months.
Provincial police said officers in Atikokan were on a routine patrol on the evening of Sept. 27 when they came across a vehicle being driven erratically in the Lone Pine area.
The vehicle was stopped and a field sobriety test led officers to determine the driver was impaired. The driver was arrested and taken to the Fort Frances detachment for additional testing.
The driver is charged with one count of impaired driving and was issued a 90-day licence suspension and a seven-day vehicle impoundment.
The accused also faces impaired driving charges from a July incident that nearly resulted in a collision with an off-duty police officer.
