DRYDEN — The City of Dryden has issued a boil water advisory.

According to the city, this comes after an electrical failure late Thursday evening.

Residents are being advised to bring tap water to a boil before using it for such things as cooking or making ice, as well as using the cooled boiled water for washing and preparing foods, brushing teeth and drinking water.

The city notes that water filtration jugs don't make water safe to drink; they still need to boil it prior to consumption.

Keewatin-Patricia District School Board schools will be open Friday while the advisory is active, including Dryden High School, New Prospect Public School and Open Roads Public School.

No details have been made available on when the boil advisory will be lifted.
