Calgary man charged with impaired driving

An out-of-province driver was charged with impaired driving by OPP this week.

DRYDEN — OPP in Ignace have charged one person with impaired driving. 

Officers conducted a traffic stop on Wednesday around 11 p.m. on Hwy 17 in Ignace. 

As a result of their investigation, officers determined the driver of the motor vehicle had been impaired by alcohol or drugs.

The driver was arrested and transported to the Ignace detachment OPP Detachment for further testing. 

A 55-year-old from Calgary, Alberta, has been charged accordingly. 

The accused was released from custody and had a future court date in Ignace. 

The OPP remains committed to taking alcohol/drug-impaired drivers off the road through enforcement and public education.

If anyone suspects that someone is driving while impaired by alcohol or drugs, it is important to call 9-1-1 to report it.
