FORT FRANCES — An inmate at the Fort Frances District Jail has been charged after being found with suspected meth.

Provincial police said officers with the Rainy River detachment and the regional canine unit responded on Feb. 28 to reports of a jail inmate in possession of suspected illicit substances.

Police on Wednesday said the investigation into the reports has led to a 31-year-old from Winnipeg being charged with drug possession for the purpose of trafficking.

The accused remains in custody and is due to appear in a Fort Frances courtroom later this month.
