ATIKOKAN — A call from a concerned member of the public led to an Atikokan man being charged with impaired driving on Monday.

OPP began patrolling the town after receiving a report about 1:30 a.m. about one motorist's driving behaviour.

Ninety minutes later, an officer located a vehicle parked at an intersection, and found a person sleeping in the driver's seat.

While speaking with him, the investigating officer observed signs of intoxication.

After breath tests were administered, an 18-year-old man was charged with impaired driving and with operating a vehicle while having an blood alcohol concentration over the legal limit.

He also received a 90-day administrative driver's licence suspension, and his vehicle was impounded for seven days at his expense.

The accused will appear in court next month to answer to the charges.
