WABASEEMOONG FIRST NATION – A former Wabaseemoong Child and Family Services worker has been charged with assaulting a five-year-old child in 2021.

Anne McDonald, 53, of Wabaseemoong First Nation was arrested by the Ontario Provincial Police in partnership with Treaty Three Police Service on Friday, Oct. 27.

In a release Monday, the OPP described the arrest as the culmination of a two-year investigation into a serious assault.

Treaty Three Police attended Wabaseemoong First Nation to investigate injuries suffered by a five-year-old girl on Nov. 21, 2021.

The OPP’s Major Case Investigation Team and Forensic Identification Services were assigned to collaborate with Treaty Three Police on the case.
