RED LAKE – A motor vehicle collision in the Municipality of Red Lake has led to impaired driving charges for a Red Lake man.
According to an Ontario Provincial Police release, officers responded to a motor vehicle collision along Berry Drive on Thursday, June 9 just after 9 p.m.
Police determined that one of the motor vehicle operators had been consuming alcohol.
The officer made a demand for an approved screening device breath sample, and the driver failed.
He was placed under arrest and returned to the detachment for further tests.
As a result of the investigation, a 40-year-old Red Lake man was charged with operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs and operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus).
He was released by way of undertaking for Red Lake court on Aug. 18, 2022 to answer to the charges.
