About 25 members of Community Support Centre NW have ratified a new contract that includes wage increases through 2025.

Unifor Local 324-18, which represents staff at the organization that provides support programs for children, youth, adults and families in Dryden, Kenora and Fort Frances, voted 100 per cent in favour of the tentative deal.

Unifor northern area director Stephen Boon said the new contract provides nearly 20 per cent in wage increases over the three years, along with a new employer-paid benefit plan, and a new pension plan.

"As indicated by the unanimous contract ratification vote, Unifor members at Community Support Centre NW were extremely pleased with the substantial monetary gains and key language improvements achieved in this new three-year contract," Boon said in a statement.

The deal provides a general $3-raise for all employees in 2023, followed by a two per cent increase in August 2024 and another 2.25 per cent in August 2025. Members will also receive a ratification bonus. There are also increases to mileage and shift cancellation pay.

"Unifor members at Community Support Centre Northwest provide critical support for a number of vulnerable residents across the region and we are thrilled to see our members now secure long-term stability and substantial improvements in their new contact," Unifor Local 324 president Katrina Peterson said.

"This new deal exemplifies the strong labour relations partnership with Community Support Centre NW and we are confident it will go a long way in helping this agency recruit and retain high quality employees."
