Concern citizen aids police in apprehending suspected impaired driver

FORT FRANCES — The OPP has arrested and charged a 33-year-old from Fort Frances with impaired driver after receiving a call from a member of the public.

Provincial police said they received a call for service Thursday evening from an individual at a commercial business on the 1200 Block of Kings Highway.

Once officers arrived on the scene, they determined the driver of a motor vehicle was impaired by drugs.

The accused completed a drug recognition test at the Fort Frances detachment.

As a result, the driver received a 90-day licence suspension and a seven-day impoundment.

The accused is scheduled to appear in court on Nov. 27.
