KENORA—Residents of Kenora and the public can get to one of Kenora’s beautiful beaches a lot easier starting later this month..
Coney Island shuttle boat operated by Green Adventures is coming to Kenora on June 25 and will have runs between the harbour front, in front of Whitecap Pavilion and Coney Island all summer.
The municipality and Lake of the Woods Marina and Service was pleased to confirm that the shuttle will be running for at least the next four years.
After being able to add improvements to the service, it will be able to offer shuttles every hour seven days a week.
The municipality shared the shuttle times as follows:
Shuttle Times to Coney departing from Harbourfront to Coney ($10 return)
- 10 a.m. - 11 a.m.
- 1 p.m. - 2 p.m.
- 4 p.m. - 6 p.m.
Tours departing from Habourfront ($25 per person includes tax)
- 11:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.
- 2: 30 p.m. - 3:30 p.m.
Shuttle service will be by appointment only after September long weekend.
In July 2021, the City of Kenora signed a deal on a partnership with local business Green Adventures that would provide residents and tourists without boats an easy way to get to Coney Island, one of the lake’s most pristine and eventful beaches.
