SIOUX LOOKOUT – Four people have been arrested and face drug trafficking charges after police responded to a disturbance at a Sioux Lookout residence.
Ontario Provincial Police, in a release issued on Friday, say they were called to an apartment on Millar Crescent on Monday, Feb. 24.
During the course of their investigation, officers seized suspected illegal substances, including oxycodone and crack cocaine.
They also recovered Canadian currency and other items consistent with drug trafficking.
Two adults from Sioux Lookout, an 18-year-old from Toronto and a 17-year-old who cannot be identified under the Youth Criminal Justice Act were arrested.
The 18-year-old faces two counts of possession of a Schedule 1 substance (opioid), one count of possession of a Schedule 1 substance (cocaine), possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime over $5,000 and two counts of disobeying a court order.
A 60-year-old from Sioux Lookout faces two counts of possession of a Schedule 1 substance (opioid), one count of possession of a Schedule 1 substance (cocaine), while a 23-year-old from Sioux Lookout faces the same two charges as well as a charge of failing to comply with a release order.
The youth faces two counts of possession of a Schedule 1 substance (opioid), one count of possession of a Schedule 1 substance (cocaine).
The accused from Toronto and the 60-year-old from Sioux Lookout were held for bail and remanded to the Kenora District Jail.
The 23-year-old and the youth were released from custody with a future court date.
