IGNACE — OPP have laid charges in connection with a spousal assault case in Ignace.
Officers responded on Saturday evening to a call from a local residence about a domestic incident.
As a result of the investigation, a 27-year-old is charged with spousal assault, assault causing bodily harm by choking, suffocating or strangling, and breach of recognizance.
The accused was held in custody pending a court appearance in Dryden.
OPP are withholding the person's name in order to protect the identity of the victim.
