SIOUX LOOKOUT — With the help of doorbell cameras and residents, provincial police were able to nab a man suspected of breaking and entering at several locations.

Between Oct. 24 and Tuesday, OPP received several reports of a suspicious person on various properties throughout the municipality.

Officers were able to use private residential security camera footage to identify a suspect, which led to the arrest of a 34-year-old Sioux Lookout man.

He has been charged with multiple trespassing at night, break-and-enter charges and theft under $5,000.

Auxiliary officers will continue to speak to property owners and canvass the neighbourhoods to remind residents of the Lock It or Lose It program.

Additionally, the public is encouraged to check their properties, and anyone with more information that could be related to these events is asked to contact the Sioux Lookout OPP detachment at 807-737-2020 or 1-888-310-1122.
