FORT FRANCES — A 23-year-old faces several charges after a vehicle did not pull over for a traffic stop.
Provincial police said officers were on general patrol in Fort Frances just after 1 a.m. Sunday when a driver was seen committing multiple traffic violations.
Police attempted to stop the vehicle, but it failed to stop. The officers followed for a short period of time, but disengaged when the situation became dangerous for other road users.
Officers later located the vehicle and arrested the driver.
The accused is charged with dangerous operation, failure to stop for police, stunt driving, disobeying a stop sign, failing to report an accident, and making an unsafe turn.
The accused has been released from custody and is scheduled to appear in a Fort Frances courtroom next month.
