Driver charged after tractor-trailer hits rock cut on Highway 17

The transport truck sustained heavy damage but no one was seriously injured

KENORA — A Manitoba resident was charged with careless driving after a tractor-trailer went out of control and collided with a rock cut on Highway 17 late Tuesday afternoon.

No one was seriously injured in the incident, which occurred about 60 kilometres east of Kenora.

Images posted by OPP and on social media shows the vehicle sustained extensive damage.

Ontario Provincial Police said they charged a 37-year-old man from Winnipeg.

The incident forced the closure of the westbound lane of the highway until about midnight.
