Driver charged after transport goes off road

KENORA — A 54-year-old from Winnipeg has been charged with careless driving after a transport carrying wood chips went off the highway last week.

Provincial police said emergency services were called on Friday after the vehicle went off Highway 17A near Middle Lake Road and went down an embankment.

Police said no other vehicles were involved and the driver was not injured.

The highway had been shut down for a brief period while emergency services responded.
