Driver in fatal 2024 Kenora collision charged with impaired driving

OPP have laid charges after a 2024 fatal single-vehicle crash in Kenora.

KENORA — Ontario Provincial Police have laid charges against a 42 year-old woman after an investigation into an SUV crash that killed two people last year in Kenora.

The Wabaseemoong First Nation woman has been charged with two counts of impaired operation of a vehicle causing death and one count each of impaired operation of a vehicle causing bodily harm, dangerous operation of a vehicle causing death and dangerous operation of a vehicle causing bodily harm.

Police said the single-vehicle crash happened on April 13, 2024 shortly after 1 p.m. on Highway 525 in Kenora.

Two people were pronounced dead at the scene, police said, while two others sustained non-life-threatening injuries.

The accused was scheduled to be in court on Thursday.
