Driver pronounced dead after Highway 671 crash

Police responded to the crash just after 5:30 a.m. on Friday morning.

KENORA — OPP are investigative a fatal motor-vehicle collision that took place just after 5:30 a.m. on Friday on Highway 671.

Police, in a release issued on Friday morning, said they responded to the crash scene, along with emergency medical services, and transported the driver in the single-vehicle crash to Lake of the Woods District Hospital, where they were produced dead.

A passenger was taken to hospital with minor injuries.

OPP’s North West Region traffic incident management and enforcement team is currently investigating the crash, which took place approximately 12 kilometres north of Highway 17A.

The highway is open to one lane only at this time.
