KENORA – A recent arrest in Kenora led to the seizure of drugs that police say had a street value of $18,000.
OPP, in a release issued on Tuesday, said they were called on Monday to an address to follow up on a report of an unwanted individual. Police attended the scene and arrested a 28-year-old Kenora woman and seized 26.26 grams of suspected fentanyl, cash, weapons and cell phones.
The accused has been charged with possession of a substance for purpose of trafficking – opioid, impersonation with intent to avoid arrest, prosecution or obstruct justice, and possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime under $5,000.
Additional charges, including possession of a weapon for dangerous purpose, carrying a concealed weapon and failure to comply with a release order were also laid.
The accused is behind bars and scheduled to appear in court in Kenora on Monday.
