Dryden drug bust nets three arrests

Three people — a 49-year-old from Dryden and two 18-year-olds from Calgary — were charged after police found suspected drugs. including cocaine and oxycodone, along with cash and items associated with drug trafficking.

DRYDEN — Three people have been arrested on drug charges after a residence was searched earlier this week.

Provincial police, along with the Nishnawbe Aski Police Service and the provincial guns and gangs enforcement team, executed a search warrant in Dryden on Tuesday.

The investigation led to the seizure of suspected drugs. including cocaine and oxycodone, along with cash and items associated with drug trafficking.

A 49-year-old from Dryden is charged with four counts of drug possession for the purpose of trafficking and one count failure to comply with a release order.

Two people from Calgary, both 18, are each charged with four counts of drug possession for the purpose of trafficking and one count of possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime under $5,000.

All three remain in custody and are scheduled to appear in a Kenora court on Friday.
