Dryden theft suspects sought

Suspects accused of paying for an item, then stealing half the money back after distracting cashier.

THUNDER BAY — Police in Dryden are looking into a theft incident at a local business and are asking the public to help identify the suspects.

Ontario Provincial Police, in a release, said they were dispatched at about 1:29 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 22, to investigate the incident. They acquired surveillance footage, which showed two suspects, whose identities remain unknown.

According to the footage, the suspects purchased a $500 item, paid in cash, then took half the money from the cashier and walked out, without paying the full price.

The suspects are described as an older male and a female.

The male suspect was wearing a white shirt, black jacket and prescription glasses. The female was wearing a red and back striped shirt, a black parka and prescription glasses.

Anyone who can identify the suspects is asked to reach out to the Dryden OPP at 1-888-310-1122.

None of the allegations have been tested in court.
