EAR FALLS — KD's Fine Foods of Ear Falls has been selected as a winner for the Old Dutch Foods Community Award.
Old Dutch Foods Ltd. Has continuously partnered with Fine Foods Advertising Limited to create a community program with a pay it forward approach.
The participating stores are entered to win $2,500 through a random draw. The winners then are entitled to choose the charity they would like the money to be donated too. Throughout this partnership, Old Dutch Ltd. and Fine Foods Advertising Limited has donated a total of $165,000 to local community charities since 2017.
This years KD’s Fine Foods was one of the 14 stores selected.
“We couldn’t decide on one charity since there are so many great ones in Ear Falls,” owner Karen Climie-Desjardins said.
KD decided to split the money and divide the winnings between the Ear Falls Lions Club, Minor Hockey, Figure Skating Club, Memory in Miles, and the Firefighters Association.
“Thank you to everyone for all the efforts you put in to make our community awesome,” she said.
Each local charity received $500 of the winnings.
