FORT FRANCES – Officers with the Rainy River OPP detachment responded to a report of a dark-coloured motor vehicle driving erratically in the 500 block of King's Highways this past weekend.

Officers located the motor vehicle just after 1 a.m. Saturday, parked at a local convenience store and initiated a traffic stop.

As a result of their investigation, police determined that the 24-year-old Stanjikoming First Nation driver was impaired by alcohol.

The driver was placed under arrest and was transported to the Rainy River District OPP Detachment.

The accused was released from custody but is scheduled to appear in a Fort Frances courtroom in October.
