TORONTO - The Ontario Public School Boards’ Association (OPSBA) has announced that the Council of Trustees’ Associations/School Board Associations (CTA) and the provincial government have reached agreement on central terms of a contract with education workers represented by the Elementary Teachers' Federation of Ontario (ETFO).

“This tentative agreement acknowledges the significance of education workers in our schools and values the daily contributions they make to enhance students' educational experience,” said OPSBA president Cathy Abraham.

The tentative agreement will affect school boards where the ETFO represents education workers, such as early childhood education workers and support staff, including the Keewatin-Patricia District School Board and the Rainy River District School Board.

However, the details of the agreement were not being released until all parties ratify the contract.

An agreement has not yet been reached for around 80,000 teachers represented by the ETFO.
