The start of October is bringing a blast of summer-like heat to areas in the Rainy River district.
Environment Canada issued a heat warning on Monday for the Fort Frances, Rainy River and Atikokan areas, with humidex values expected to reach the mid 30s.
Day-time high temperatures are expected to approach 30 C on Monday, with the possibility of reaching similar highs on Tuesday.
The overnight hours are expected to offer little relief, with the lows expected to hover around 20 C.
