SHEBANDOWAN — A fire early Tuesday destroyed two trailers at the Shebandowan Shores Resort on Lake Shebandowan, and damaged one other.
Ontario Provincial Police said no injuries were reported, and that the fire does not appear to be suspicious in nature.
A spokesperson for the resort was unavailable to comment, but management posted details of the incident on social media.
It said the blaze appears to have started in one trailer on the lakefront shortly before 8 a.m., before spreading quickly to a nearby unit.
Members of the Shebandowan fire department responded to the alarm.
According to the post, rain and low wind speeds helped keep the fire from spreading farther.
"Will need to clean up, re-do the electrical and water lines in the area, and tenants will replace their trailers through insurance," it said.
It noted that although there's little damage to the park itself, it's "not a good time for our two tenants who lost their trailers, boats, docks and add-ons."
A third tenant will have to replace a trailer and shed due to heat-induced damage.
The message expressed thanks to the Shebandowan fire department for bringing the situation quickly under control.
There is no official word yet on the possible cause of the fire.
In June 2020, a fire at the same resort destroyed four trailers and a washroom building.
