Flood warning in Dryden lead to closures

The Ministry of Northern Development, Mines, Natural Resources and Forestry has upgraded the Dryden District from a Flood Outlook to a Flood Warning, which will continue until May 20, 2022.

DRYDEN – The City of Dryden advises the public that rising water levels along Duke Street Dock and the Swanson Creek footbridge are closed.

City staff will monitor water levels in Wabigoon Lake and River and all critical locations throughout the city for any immediate threats to infrastructure.

At this time, they feel the threat level is low; however, with the rainfall warning in effect, the situation could worsen.

The City of Dryden reminds everyone travelling throughout the area do so with extreme caution as some of the more minor travelled roads, bridges, and water crossings may have encountered flooding.

If you have any questions regarding the sidewalk closures or water levels, please get in touch with the Public Works office at 223-2367.
