FORT FRANCES — Provincial police arrested four people after an overnight traffic stop led to the seizure of drugs.
Police said a vehicle was stopped in Fort Frances just after midnight Friday for a moving violation.
The investigation led to officers discovering that the driver had a suspended licence.
Police seized about 60 grams of suspected methamphetamine, along with quantities of suspected fentanyl and cocaine. Cash and items associated with drug trafficking were also seized.
A 46-year-old from Manitoba is charged with three counts of drug possession for the purpose of trafficking, along with failure to comply with a release order, driving while suspended, and possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000.
Three others —a 38-year-old from Onigaming First Nation, a 27-year-old from Kenora, and a 35-year-old from Winnipeg — are all charged with multiple counts of drug possession for the purpose of trafficking and possession of property obtained by crime. One of the accused is also charged with possession of a forged document and failure to comply with a release order, while another is also charged with three counts of failing to comply with a release order.
They all are scheduled to appear in court on Friday.
