THUNDER BAY – A gastrointestinal outbreak has been declared at the Emo Health Centre.

The move means enhanced visitor restrictions have been put in place, only permitting two visitors or caregivers at a time, per resident.

Visitations are restricted to residents’ rooms, and must not take place in common areas, according to a release issued on Saturday by Riverside Health Care.

Visitors are being encouraged to conduct self-screening before entering the facility and asked not to visit if experiencing any symptoms.

The outbreak management team is monitoring the situation and any changes to restrictions will be adjusted as necessary.
