DRYDEN — A Dryden-area resident whose vehicle went off the road Monday afternoon ended up with more serious issues to deal with than just extricating her vehicle from a snowbank.
According to OPP, officers patrolling Highway 17 stopped to provide assistance after spotting a pickup truck in the ditch just east of Wabigoon.
Police wound up charging a 35-year-old woman with careless driving, driving while under suspension, and failure to provide proof of insurance.
A 34-year-old passenger in the vehicle was charged with obstruction after allegedly providing a false name to officers, and with two counts of failing to comply with a release order.
The man, who's from Kenora, was held in custody for a bail hearing.
