THUNDER BAY — Kevin Holland will seek re-election in the next provincial election.
The Ontario Progressive Conservative Party announced on Friday afternoon that Holland as been acclaimed as their candidate for Thunder Bay-Atikokan.
“Kevin Holland is a tireless advocate for his community, with an unwavering commitment to the people of Thunder Bay–Atikokan,” said Premier Doug Ford, in a news release. “From unlocking critical minerals in the Ring of Fire to creating good-paying jobs in Northern Ontario, expanding health-care services, and addressing cost-of-living challenges, Kevin is delivering results that make life better for families. I’m proud to have him on our team as we continue building a stronger Ontario.”
Holland said representing the riding is an honour he holds deeply.
“Whether it’s expanding access to primary care, enhancing emergency services or ensuring our region remains a leader in the forestry and mining sectors, I’m committed to helping our communities thrive,” he said. “There’s more work to be done, and I’m ready to keep working alongside the incredible people of this riding to build a brighter, more prosperous future for Northern Ontario.”
Holland was elected as the MPP for Thunder Bay-Atikokan in 2022, unseating the NDP incumbent at the time, Judith Monteith-Farrell.
Holland was also previously the long-term mayor of Conmee Township.
No date has yet been set for the next Ontario election, although Ford has suggested an early election is possible.
