KITCHENUHMAYKOOSIB FIRST NATION — Ontario Provincial Police are investigating a homicide case in the remote fly-in community of Kitchenuhmaykoosib Inninuwug First Nation.
In a news release Tuesday afternoon, OPP said officers from the K.I. detachment responded just after 3 pm Monday to an incident in which initially one individual was found to be deceased.
Officers later located a second deceased person.
Investigators released no further details but said they believe there is no threat to public safety.
Post-mortem examinations will be conducted at the Ontario Forensic Pathology Service in Toronto.
The investigation continues with the involvement of the North West Region Crime Unit, emergency response team, OPP forensic services and a major case investigation team.
