PERRAULT FALLS – According to OPP Northwest Region, on Thursday night officers with the Red Lake OPP Detachment responded to a report of a collision on Highway 105.
Upon arrival, officers found that the driver had left the scene.
Shortly after they had begun their investigation, officers found the driver and determined the motorist was impaired by alcohol.
The driver was placed under arrest and transported to the detachment for further testing, which revealed the driver had a blood alcohol concentration of 80 plus.
As a result, a 30-year-old from Kenora was charged with impaired driving, failure to report an accident, failure to remain at the accident, and having open liquor while driving.
The accused has been released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the court in September.
