KENORA — Ontario Provincial Police didn't have to look too hard to find evidence pointing to a potential problem for a motorist on the weekend.
After stopping a pickup truck on Highway 17 near War Eagle Lake, just west of Kenora, on Saturday evening they observed several empty beer cans and a partially-consumed bottle of rum on the passenger seat.
"OPP are constantly on the lookout for impaired drivers, and on Saturday night they successfully removed one from the Trans-Canada Highway," police stated in a social media post.
"If you're out for a cruise stay clear of the booze!," they added.
A 46-year-old man from Latchford, Ontario faces multiple charges including impaired driving, having care or control of a vehicle with an open container of liquor, and driving while under suspension.
