Individual charged with impaired driving in a stolen vehicle

Kenora OPP has arrested and charged one individual with impaired driving following a report of a stolen vehicle.

NAOTKAMEGWANNING – A 20-year-old Naotkamegwanning First Nation woman faces charges after being stopped by police in Kenora.

On Sunday, officers with the Ontario Provincial Police in Kenora received a report of a stolen vehicle travelling from Naotkamegwanning First Nation to Kenora. 

The vehicle was located in Kenora, and police initiated a traffic stop.  

During the investigation, officers determined that the driver of the motor vehicle was impaired by alcohol.

The 20-year-old driver was placed under arrest and charged with impaired driving and driving a motor vehicle with no license.

The OPP has not yet responded to a request for further details from NWOnewswatch.

The driver was released from police custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Kenora in September.
