On Sept. 7, Kurtz shared her message, as students and families began another school year. In it, Kurtz spoke about the excitement that the KCDSB is experiencing as a result of students being able to be back to in-person learning at each of their schools.

“We at Kenora Catholic School Board are excited about having our students back into our hallways, this year,” stated Kurtz.

As Director she highlighted the Board’s focus to offering support to students and families, sharing with them the theme of their Catholic Education Week theme.

“This year well will be focusing on supporting students and families to live and celebrate our faith in our everyday lives,” shared Kurtz. Our Catholic Education Week theme this year is “We are Many-We are One”. Kenora Catholic is a wonderful team of students, parents, educators and staff, that feels like a family,” she added.

In addition, both cloth masks and testing kits will be available to students throughout the year,” said Kurtz. Please continue to screen daily before sending your child to school and keep them home if they are ill,” continued the Director.

She concluded her message by thanking parents, guardians and care-givers for choosing to send their children to KCDSB schools.

“Thank you for sending your child to the Kenora Catholic District School Board. We are grateful for the opportunity of providing a faith-based education to your child in a caring, Catholic, community. I wish everyone a wonderful start to the 2022-2023 school year,” concluded Kurtz.
