KENORA – Police have charged a Kenora driver after allegedly observing their motor vehicle swerving on the roadway.

OPP officers saw the vehicle swerving into the shoulder lane on Veterans Drive late Thursday evening, according to a release issued Friday.

During the traffic stop, the officers determined that the driver was impaired by alcohol and the driver was placed under arrest and transported to the Kenora OPP detachment for further testing.

As a result, a 26-year-old from Kenora has been arrested and charged with impaired operation of a motor vehicle.

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear in court in October.

The OPP urges anyone who suspects that someone is driving while impaired by alcohol or drugs to call 9-1-1 to report it.
