KENORA – A traffic stop in Kenora has led to an impaired-by-drug charge being laid against a 32-year-old Kenora man.

Police, in a release issued on Monday, said officers observed a motor vehicle running in a parking lot in the Cambrian Drive area.

Through an investigation, police determined the motorist was allegedly impaired by drug, and was subsequently arrested and transported to the OPP detachment in Kenora for further testing.

The accused was then charged with operation while alcohol and drugs and operation while prohibited. The incident took place just after 9:30 p.m. on Dec. 13.

The accused was held for a bail hearing on Dec. 14.

It is Newswatch policy not to name people accused of a crime if it is unlikely we will follow the case through its conclusion in court.
