KENORA — A fireworks show that had been scheduled for Canada Day will instead take place during the upcoming long weekend.

City officials announced this week that Tourism Kenora has rescheduled the fireworks display, which will now happen on Aug. 6 beginning at 10:45 p.m at the Harbourfront.

Fireworks planned for Canada Day were postponed due to the fire ban that had been in place across the region.

Other activities in Kenora this weekend include Harbourfest, with musical entertainment set for Saturday night featuring headliners The Grapes of Wrath and Family Fest activities running during the day on Saturday and Sunday.
