Man arrested for unmarked cigarettes and cannabis

Rainy River OPP charged an individual for having a large sum of unmarked cigarettes and cannabis readily available.

FORT FRANCES — While out on patrol on Second Street East, Ontario Provincial Police performed a traffic stop on a 51-year-old driver from Echo Bay.

Inside the vehicle, OPP found 200 unmarked cigarettes and open cannabis.

As a result, the 51-year-old was charged with possession of unmarked cigarettes, cannabis readily available, and an additional charge of failure to surrender insurance for a motor vehicle.

The driver was issued Provincial Offence Notices, and the cigarettes were seized.
