KENORA — A 64-year-old faces several firearms charges after provincial police responded to a weapons incident on Tuesday.
In a Wednesday update, police said officers responded to an incident involving a firearm on Highway 658 near Jack Lake.
Police contained the area and began an investigation. A suspect was found and arrested a short time later.
The accused — identified as Bernhard Maier — is charged with two counts of pointing a firearm, two counts of uttering threats, two counts of using a firearm while committing an offence, and careless use of a firearm.
Maier remains in custody and is expected to appear in a Kenora court at a later date.
The charges have yet to be tested in court.
