SIOUX LOOKOUT — Provincial police arrested a suspect who allegedly advanced towards officers with a weapon.
Police said officers on foot patrol in the area of Front Street in Sioux Lookout on Saturday afternoon when they saw a man who appeared to be under the influence of drugs or alcohol.
Police said the man was quickly arrested after producing the weapon while officers were checking on his well-being.
There were no injuries to either the suspect or officers, police added.
A 34-year-old of no fixed address is charged with assaulting a peace officer with a weapon, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, and failing to comply with a probatio order.
The accused was held for a bail hearing on Sunday.
