Man faces several charges after breaking into home

RED LAKE — A 46-year-old faces several charges after provincial police responded to reports of a suspicious person on McKenzie Island.

Police said officers with the Red Lake detachment were called to the incident during the early morning hours of July 22.

The investigation determined that the suspect broke into a residence. The suspect was found a short time later and was arrested.

Police said a pellet gun and suspected methamphetamine were located during a search.

The accused is charged with carrying a concealed weapon, break and enter to commit an indictable offence, mischief under $5,000, two counts of failure to comply with a release order, and failure to comply with a probation order.

The accused remains in custody and is expected to appear in a Kenora court for a bail hearing at a later date.
