RED LAKE — The ferry connecting mainland Red Lake and McKenzie Island is out of service.
The municipality issued a notice Monday morning that the Miss McKenzie II Ferry has had a mechanical failure and is out of service until further notice.
The ferry runs seasonally from a dock in Cochenour, across the Bruce Channel to McKenzie Island. When the waterway freezes over, residents can instead cross on the ice.
